De Soto Railroad Employees’ Memorial

The railroad has played an integral part in the De Soto, Missouri, community since 1857. Our community is unique in that it has provided a home for the St. Louis Iron Mountain and Southern, the Missouri Pacific, and the Union Pacific railroads. Consequently, the members of the De Soto Railroad Employees’ Memorial, Inc., recognizing the importance of the railroad in the development of our community, have created a lasting monument dedicated to railroad employees—past, present and future.
